Holiday Home Check-in and Check-Out

Essential Points for Smooth Holiday Home Check-in and Check-out

The process of checking in and out of a holiday home is an important part of ensuring a smooth and enjoyable stay for both the guest and the licensee. Here are some key points to keep in mind:

  • The licensee is responsible for welcoming the guest, handing over the keys to the unit, and ensuring that the unit is clean and ready for their stay.
  • The licensee must also inform the guest of the terms and conditions, as well as any internal rules that must be followed during their stay.
  • As part of building management's security measures, they may request to view the guest's passport photos or identity, or take a copy, at the time of check-in.
  • Check-in and check-out of guests must be completed within a maximum of three (3) hours of entering the holiday home.
  • All guests must be checked in to the holiday home system by the licensee.
  • In the event of any issues between the building management and the holiday home company/establishment/individual owner, the guest must be allowed to enter the unit without delay. Any disputes should be resolved separately between the company and building management, or by making a complaint to the Department of Economic Development (DET).
  • If upon arrival, the guest discovers major damage to the unit that prevents them from staying, such as damage to air conditioning or water leakage, the licensee must provide an alternative unit of the same standards, size, and guest occupancy without charging any additional fees.
